I started in physical product sales, moved into tech sales and later product management. I was good at it. Often the best on the team, well paid, and sure that this was what success should feel like.
It didn't. I kept wondering why I wasn't satisfied, why I didn't feel well, when everything looked right on paper.
Building a company from nothing
Then I founded my own tech company and ran it for seven years as CEO. We bootstrapped it without outside capital and sold to large customers, including [customer names]. I was the founder, the product lead and usually the one closing the deals.
I know the pressure of a quarter from the inside, and what it's like to carry a company on your own attention.
The crash
Eventually it caught up with me. I burned out and had to close the company. Meditation was where I started, mostly because I had to.
I went on to a long training at Bara Vara and certified as a Zen Coach. I wasn't trying to become a coach. I wanted to understand what had happened to me, and what actually changes a person from the inside.
Why I do this now
What I learned is simple to say and hard to practise: performance follows attention, and attention follows how you feel. Both can be trained. I work with sellers and the people who lead them because that's my home turf. I speak quota and pipeline, and I know the room.
Most of all, I want people to find this before the crash, not after it.
Still a builder
I still build products. My latest, Hittaförskola.se, helps Stockholm parents compare preschools and gets around 15,000 preschool views a month.
I live in Stockholm with my family, including a young daughter who is very good at keeping me present.
